A studio portrait of a Japanese couple, Los Angeles, ca. 1920. A formal studio portrait is enclosed within a matted photograph folder with an emblem embossed on the outside. The middle aged man sits in a leather, straight back chair on top of a fluffy rug. The woman stands at the right side with her right hand resting on the chair. A small potted plant is at their feet. The woman wears a day hat, gloves and carries a small leather purse. The man wears a suit. The image was taken at the Imada Studio, 128 1/2 E. First Street, Los Angeles.The photograph and folder are in good condition despite the moderate discoloration to the image.
