A studio portrait of a young woman, James B. Blanchard, Los Angeles, 1890s. The image shows the woman in a head-and-shoulder view. She wears a black dress with a high collar, lapels, and enormous puffed sleeves. She also appears to have a brooch on the collar front. Blanchard's cartouche is at the bottom of the front. On the reverse is an inscription with the first name "Anna" but the surname is rendered unreadable by some adhesive, though the first letter is a "G" and the last an "e." With creasing on the reverse not affecting the image, a few small stains, soiling and edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.
