Description

A studio portrait of actor-director Frank E. Montgomery, probably Los Angeles, ca. 1913. The image shows him nearly full-length, wearing a log coat, vest, and tie as well as a hat, while he holds a pair of gloves. Adhered to the back side of the matte is a negative that can't be removed and appears to be a total loss because of damage. This may have been taken as Montgomery made his mark as a director of Josephine M. Workman (Princess Mona Darkfeather), also his wife, during her days of film stardom. With some dampstaining, soiling, losses to the matte and creases, the condition is fair.
