Description
A studio portrait of actor Frank Montgomery by Amzie D. Browning, Portland, Oregon, ca. 1905. The image shows the performer in a lower torso view, wearing a three-piece suit and boe tie and sporting a mustache. He was a stage actor in that city from 1905 to 1909, resettling in Los Angeles and appearing in some of the earliest films made there before directing and marrying Josephine M. Workman (Princess Mona Darkfeather) through her stardom years in the Teens. On the reverse is the inscription: "Frank E. Akley," his birth name. With some dampstaining, warping, and soiling, the condition is fair.
