A studio portrait of actor Frank Montgomery in costume by Milton Loryea, Spokane, Washington, ca. 1901. The image shows the performer in a military-type costume as he was a stage actor in that city and later went to Los Angeles and appeared in some of the earliest films made there before directing and marrying Josephine M. Workman (Princess Mona Darkfeather) through her stardom years in the Teens. With some dampstaining, warping, and soiling, the condition is fair.
