Description
A studio portrait of actor Frederick Warde by Albert W. Witzel, Los Angeles, inscribed in 1922. The view shows the Shakesperian actor, who played Junipero Serra in the Mission Play, wearing a suit and sporting pince nez. An inscription at the lower left has his autograph and also "To Johnny and Jennie, I affectionately know them," these being the play's principal dancers, John and Juanita Zorraquinos. Witzel's mark is at the lower right. With some album paper residue, a tear at the lower right, a few stains and light soiling, the condition is good.
