Description

A studio portrait of Constance Rogers and Edith Wiggins by J. Fred Hartsook, Los Angeles, ca. 1908. The image shows the young woman, Rogers, wearing a white blouse with embroidered sleeves, collar and front and a dark-colored skirt, sitting on a large carved wood armchair. The infant, Edith Wiggins, is seated on Rogers' right arm and has her right hand resting on Rogers' chest. On the reverse is an ink inscription identifying the two and noting that the photo was a Christmas gift from Rogers to an uncle and aunt and giving Edith's age. With a few small stains, some soiling and edge rubbing, the condition is good overall.
