A studio portrait of E. H. Fay, by James B. Blanchard, Los Angeles, 1901. The image shows the upper torso and head of the subject, who wears a dark high-buttoned, double-breasted suit with white shirt and white tie, against a plain backdrop. The man's hair is foppishly-curled above his forehead and toward the back of the head. At the bottom of the mount is the studio name and address. On the reverse is an ink inscription: "Mr. E. H. Fay / Los Angeles, /Calif / 1901." With some abrasions, soiling, stains and what looks like envelope flap residue on the reverse, the condition is fair.
