A studio portrait of Gladys Kremer, Murrillo, Los Angeles, ca. 1924. The view is a profile head-and-shoulder shot of the curly-haired subject shown with her head raised. Her signature is at the bottom right and the photographer's cartouche is at the lower left. An address of 3909 So. Normandie and a phone numer, along with Kremer's name is at the top of the reverse, while below is a message "Please return to 714 Majestic Theatre Bldg." Kremer, born in 1901 in Detroit, was a singer in Los Angeles, living at the Normandie Avenue address (a small bungalow still stands there) in 1924 and performed for a radio program in Oakland in November 1924 with this photo used for press in the Oakland Tribune newspaper. She was listed as a singer in the 1928 Los Angeles City Director and as an actor two years later. She married Ralph Schaldach and died in Livonia, Michigan in 1995. The return message might have been from an agent or talent agency. Kremer did reside at the Normandie address, as well. With adhesive and adhesive residue on the reverse, stains, soiling, pin holes at the corners, creases, and edge abrasions, warping, the condition is fair.
