Description

A studio portrait of Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Doyle, Los Angeles, ca. 1910s. The image shows the couple standing with their bodies slightly turned from the camera. He wears a dark pinstriped suit, white shirt, and light-colored tie. She wears a white lace fringed blouse, grey-colored skirt, and elbow-length gloves. A Frank Russell Doyle was born in Oakland in 1886 and resided in south Los Angeles in 1910 as a horse dealer. He later resided in Woodland, San Francisco and San Diego. His brother, Clyde, was a Republican Congressman from Long Beach. With edge rubbing, corner abrasions, soiling and staining to the matte while the photo is clear, the overall condition is good.
