Description

A studio portrait of Myrtle Beatty by a Los Angeles photographer, ca. 1905. The image shows the young woman in three-quarters view and wearing a dark silk blouse with a band collar, dark skirt. and a large hat with white feathers. Her name is inscribed in ink on the reverse and other inscriptions by Beatty were excised. The logo for the photo studio is at lower right, probably comprised on initials, but the name cannot be determined. There is also evidence of adhesive on the back, as well as soiling, scratches, and fading, so that the condition is fair.
