Description

A subpoena against Michel Lachenais, 5 July 1870. The court document was issued and filed in the Los Angeles township, county of Los Angeles, by the Justice Court and the Justice of the Peace, John Trafford. The document has Lachenais' first name written as "Miguel" though his name was Michel. Lachenais was a French native who murdered several people during the 1860s. He was lynched by a vigilance committee in 1871. With minor tears along the edge of the document, creasing, and soiling, it is in good condition overall.
