Description
A tintype postmortem photograph of a man in a coffin by T. S. Whitney, ca. 1860s. The image, housed in a paper case with embossed C-scroll designs, shows a man lying in a thin wooden coffin dressed in a shirt and tie and there appear to be two large flowers placed on top of the body. The photographer's name is stamped on the bottom of the mount. With some soiling and edge rubbing, the condition is good.
