Description

A typed description of a wanted man from Los Angeles, 13 May 1889. The sheet gives the name, origins, age, physical characteristics, disposition, and other details of the man wanted for forgery and embezzlement from the federal government. It was noted the suspect, Charles Godfrey, a.k.a. George N. Shaw, might be on a sailing vessel as he was a steamship fireman by trade. A short handwritten note on the reverse gives more detail on the nature of the alleged crimes and is from a postal inspector. With extensive stains on one side from glue in an album, corners trimmed, much creasing, ink smearing and soiling, the condition is fair.
