Description
A view of the Mission San Gabriel, Frederick H. Rogers and Company, Los Angeles, ca. 1880s. The image is taken from a short distance southeast of the mission just behind the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway tracks. The east entrance and the southern elevation and belfry of the stone church are in view, as are some trees planted along that latter portion which obscure any view of the rectory. Near the entrance is a horse and buggy. The reverse has an owner's stamp and a label from a Los Angeles bookseller. With soiling, minor foxing or other stains, fading, and edge abrasions, the overall condition is good.
