Description

A wanted postal card from the Los Angeles police chief, J.M. Glass, 29 January 1890. The card advertises for the arrest and return of suspect William Griffin and a 10-year old boy for bunco. The handwritten note does not have much information or a description of the two, other than noting that Griffin was a sword swallower, juggler and balance artist and that the child was a "banjo picker." Mailed to San Diego police chief Joseph Coyne (spelled Hoyne here), there is glue residue and abrasions on the reverse and there are stains and soiling, so the card is in fair overall condition.
