Description
A winning car at the finish line of an automobile race, Los Angeles, W. A. Hughes, ca. 1920s. The closeup shows the car moving across the line, with the driver raising his right arm in triumph, while a judge leaps in the air waving the checkered flag. In the background are fans lining the inside of the track. On the reverse is a pencil inscripton: "Barney flagging down / a ride at / Indianapolis," which was clearly a joke. With album paper residue on the reverse and creases and very minor soiling, the condition is overall good.
