Description
A cabinet card of a woman in front of a small residence, South Los Angeles, ca. 1900. A front view of the property shows the home owner, a woman standing on a dirt walkway. The small house appears to be a only a few hundred square feet and perhaps only a few rooms, is of unfinished vertical planks, and a simple hipped roof with the door flanked by two small windows. There is a garden with bushes, shrubs and some small trees. The woman holds a small dog and there are two more on the path near her. On the reverse in ink is "Los Angeles / Calif." Below this in pencil is "This is her place she / bought when she came / out here from Chicago / It was on 38th St just / off of Central Ave." With circular stains on the reverse, a major crease at the right center, soiling, edge abrasion, and moderate fading, the condition is fair.
