Description
A young man atop a toy horse in a swimming pool, probably in Coronado, California, 1905. The image shows him grasping a wooden horse's head in the pool, which has a slie in one corner and next to which are women seated on chairs near a wall with many doors, probably leading to dressing rooms. On the reverse is "James riding / the waves in / the swimming bath / (on a wooden tub with / a horse's head)." James was in Coronado with Elizabeth Olive Mary Fraser, who died there in January 1905 and this photo was tipped into Fraser's funeral pamphlet. Aside from very light soiling, the condition is good.
