Description

ACTOR RUDOLPH VALENTINO FROM A FILM SCENE, CA. 1926 Color: Blue; Green; Red; White; Yellow A colored photo postcard of actor Rudolph Valentino from a film scene, ca. 1926. The view is of the actor wearing a Middle-Eastern costume from his last film, "Son of the Sheik" (1926) and mounted on a horse. In the background are sand dunes and some plants. The caption at the bottom reads "THE LATE RUDOLPH VALENTINO MOUNTED ON JADAAN." A copyright symbol is at the bottom left and the number "114111" is at the bottom right. On the reverse of the unused card is a space at the left for a message, but with a two-paragraph description of the image, and at the right for an address. These are divided by the publisher's name and place of business. At the upper right are the words "POST CARD" and a box for the stamp. At the bottom left is the number "8112." With abrasions, a dented corner, and surface soiling, the overall condition is fair.
