Adobe making area, Workman Homestead, ca. 1924. The image shows five large brick-making kilns in the field near where the construction of La Casa Nueva was taking place. A ladder ascends to the top of the kiln at the far left. In front of the kilns is a large pit for digging up material and there are stacks of bricks, piles of kindling, and wheelbarrows nearby. In the foreground are newly-planted trees, probably walnuts, and more kindling. As this print was made from the original negative, it is mint.
