A black and white reproduction photograph of an aerial view of Hacienda Heights, January 1965. The aircraft was over the Puente Hills when it took this image, which shows, as boundaries, Valley Blvd. near Hacienda Blvd. at the top right; housing tract development stopping a half-mile to a mile or so east of Stimson Ave. at the right; portions of La Habra Heights at the lower right corner; the Murphy Ranch area of northeast Whittier at the lower left; a section of the Puente Hills landfill at the upper left and the tract homes lying on either side of the future Pomona Freeway at the top center. Tract home development in Hacienda Heights is well underway, though there are still some areas of orange or avocado groves within developments. Much new construction takes place at the right along Colima Rd., which ends at Hacienda Blvd. and some in the hills along what became the west side of Colima when it extended past Hacienda. At the bottom right corner of the front is a foil label in blue with the Aerial Map Industries name and address, the negative number "L-85," and the date January 1965. At the center of the reverse is a stamp in red ink, prohibiting copying or use without permission of Aerial Map Industries and, below this in black ink, giving the negative number and date again. With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
