Description

Color: Black and white A black and white reproduction photograph of Agnes and Thomas Temple in Mexican costume, ca. 1923. The two are in an unknown studio with a backdrop of a landscape with flowers and trees and what may be a fountain or statue. Thomas is on the left wearing a dark-colored charro outfit with jacket; vest; white shirt; dark tie; cummerbund; dark pants; and dark shoes. Part of the cummerbund includes a sarape which hangs at his right hip. He holds his jacket with his left hand at stomach level. Agnes wears a white patterned shawl with floral design wrapped around her and reaching the ankles; a white lace shawl; a white mantilla that frames her face and forms two points over her head; and white hose and shoes. It is probable that these costumes are the ones used in the making of the stained glass windows now reproduced in La Casa Nueva's Main Hall. The photograph is in mint condition. Number-Units: 1
