Description

Color: Black; White A black and white reproduction photograph of Agnes Temple and friends at the Mission San Gabriel, October 1921. A copystand of the original, this image shows eight girls standing and seated on a lawn with the lower trunk of a palm behind them to the left; a gate in the background left and a white wall of the old Mission church at the right. At the lower left border of the original in Thomas Temple's hand is the inscription "Mission San Gabriel - Oct. 1921 -." On the reverse is the inscription in the cataloger's hand giving identifications of the girls in the image. Agnes Temple, standing second from the right, wears a dark dress with white collar and sleeve trim and white stockings and holds a large straw hat in both hands in front of her. The others, except for the girl at top left who has a dark dress and hat, wear white or very light colored dresses and a few have hats. An earlier incorrect inscription at the reverse top is erased. With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
