Description

AGNES TEMPLE AT THE FRONT DOOR OF LA CASA NUEVA Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Agnes Temple standing next to the front door of La Casa Nueva, ca. 1926. Seen from the waist up, Agnes stands next to the western side of the entrance, wearing a dark coat with thick cuffs, gloves, a light-colored cloche hat and a large fur around her neck. She has her right hand held up in the air. Though the plaster surround is fully carved, it appears that work was still being done on the entrance area, since there seems to be no handle on the screen door and no window in the arched space at the extreme right. Details such as the grapes and wheat on the surround and, especially, the area just over the door inside the arch are quite clear. The number "3" is inscribed in pencil at the lower center of the reverse. Except for some surface soiling and stains, perhaps adhesive residue among them, on the reverse, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
