Description

AGNES TEMPLE FATJO'S BEDROOM IN HER SAN FRANCISCO HOME Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the bedroom Agnes Temple Fatjo in the house she owned with her husband, Luis Fatjo, San Francisco, ca. 1930. The image was taken at the foot of the bead and all but the left post of the footboard are in the view. A floral bedspread with a matching pillow sham and headboard cover adobrn the piece. Against the wall at the right is a night table, on which is a small lamp, an alarm clock, and a pitcher and glass. At the left is part of the back of a wooden chair. To the far right, next to the table, is what appears to be a vacuum cleaner. On the wall above and near the bed are four framed photographs. The larger one over the bed is a portrait of Agnes Temple, when she was about ten years old and a similar image, though smaller, is at the right. Two even smaller photos are on the left, both of which were taken on her honeymoon in Europe--one shows her in a military looking uniform and the other shows her, in the uniform, holding out a sword at arm's length. Because Agnes and Luis Fatjo returned from their honeymoon in the spring of 1930, the estimated date is from that year. There is some significant water damage on the bottom of the image, hence it is in fair condition. Number-Units: 1
