Description

AGNES TEMPLE STAINED GLASS WINDOW IN LA CASA NUEVA'S MAIN HALL Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the stained glass window of Agnes Temple on the right side of the front of La Casa Nueva, ca. 1978. The image shows Temple in Mexican costume, consisting of a shawl, mantilla and fan, standing on a portico or balcony with a railing behind her and, in the background, elaborate landscaping including a trellis with flowering vine; trees and shrubs; and a Spanish colonial revival building in the distance. The composite is made up of six (6) panels scotch taped together (see 92.10.13 for a related image.) Toward the bottom, in black ink, are leading lines used in preparation for replication of the window. On the lower right corner is a label from Judson Studios reading "[Judson--this section was torn off and is unreadable] Studios/200 S. Ave. 66/Los Angeles 42/Clinton 5-0131/J.B. 'Thomas Temple"/Sheet Size 'Agnes (entry)'". On the back upper right corner, written in ink, reads "Temple Mansion/Main Entry Art/Glass Windows/Agnes Temple/Full Scale", and the number "11" is written in ink on each third section of the back. In fair condition, the photograph has extensive pressure-sensitive tape; many creases; several tears along the edges; pin holes; and general wear along the edges. Number-Units: 1
