Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Agnes Temple with her dog, Mackie Boy, June 24, 1931. Temple stands at the center and leans against a tree while smiling at the camera. She wears a short-sleeve blouse, shorts, socks, and canvas sneakers. She bends her left leg up against the tree, has her right arm behind her back, and holds the dog's leash in her left hand. The terrier sits facing the camera at the bottom left and has white fur with darker fur around the eyes, on the ears, and the neck. At the left of the foreground is a bush that partially blocks the dog, and at the center of the background is a wood house. The house has a pitched roof, a long rectangular window at the left, and a porch on the right at the top of which is a screen door and a square window. Flanking the house are many pine trees and on the far right is a fence. At the center of the back is a stamp with, "WEBCO PRINT / JUN 24 1931 / WILL NEVER FADE." The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With water damage, deep stains, and a mounting corner adhered to the top right, the artifact is in poor condition. Number-Units: 1
