Description

Color: Blue; Brown A pamphlet, "Air-Way Operating Manual," for a vacuum cleaner manufactured by the Air-Way Electric Appliance Corporation, 1928. The cover has a faux leather paper finish and on the top of the front is a panel in blue with the title in gold lettering and borders. Material in the 39-page item includes how Air-Way products benefit in the cleaning of the home; an inventory of parts to the vacuum cleaner; proper cleaning positions; agitation; a universal joint to aid in use; cleaning stairs and under low furniture; floor waxing; a variety of tools and attachments; cleaning overstuffed furniture; regulating suction; reaching high places; drape cleaning; using the blower; hair drying; room ventilation; removing and replacing parts; cleaning the appliance; and using the machine to spray for pests. There are many black-and-white photographs to demonstrate the machine's use. An index is at the front and there is a page at the end about the company, including an image of its plant. The name and work and home telephone numbers of a person is written at the top of the first page. With cover creases, soiling, discoloration, and stains; and page foxing and stains, the overall condition is good.
