Description

Color: Black; Blue; Brown; Green; Red; White "Album of Views of California Alligator Farm," ca. 1920s. The artifact has a brown cardstock cover with the title in dark brown at the right and bottom of the front. The location of the farm is also at the bottom. At the left is a window in which one of the ten postcards, which are conjoined and thus not separately cataloged, which features many alligators feeding on a piece of meat, is partially visible. Other images include handlers with the animals; a girl riding a large alligator; visitors who observe one of the holding pens; Okeechobee, which was then the largest alligator in captivity; and many more. In green, on the back of each, is the name of Van Ornum Colorprint Co. and a square box for postage which also indicates rates. With light abrasions, creases, dents, and small stains on the back, the object is in good overall condition.
