Description

Color: Black; Blue; Red; White "All By Yourself in the Moonlight," by Jay Wallis, published by Harms, Inc., New York, 1928. The front cover has the title at the top with the phrase "THE SENSATIONAL NOVELTY HIT OF ENGLAND AND EUROPE" above it. Below and to the left is the descriptor "FOX / TROT" and the composer's name is at the right. An image of a man sitting in a window sill, smoking a pipe with a dark blue sky and bright full moon visible through the window is the cover image. At the bottom left is the publisher's name and the company with which the arrangements to publish in the United States were made. The transcription of the strict tempo song is for voice and piano with a key for ukulele tuning. The inside front cover contains six additional refrains for the song. On the back is a sample transcription of a song offered by the publisher. With pencil marks on the transcription, evidently for instruction, the number "30" in pencil at the top left of the cover and a very faint, largely unreadable stamp at the lower center, as well as spine abrasions, a few creases, light soiling, and page browning, the overall condition is good.
