A photograph, "Among The Breakers," Redondo Beach, ca. 1890s. Taken from the shore, the view is toward the northwest and the pier, alongside of which is a commerical vessel. Also of note on the pier are wooden derricks, presumably for loading goods from ships. A man in a small rowed craft is climbing a wave approaching the beach. Pasted down onto thin paper, the photo was trimmed at the corners and has a small tear and creasing at the lower left corner, not materially affecting the image, which is in good overall condition..
