An advertisement brochure, tours of Chinatown, Los Angeles, ca. 1900. H. C. Noll's Official Trip to Chinatown, balloon route excursion. The company offered guided tours of the Chinatown area, leaving the Broadway Hotel every evening at 8 PM to see the area lit up with traditional lights. The folio sheet features a photograph of Noll with three traditionally dressed Chinese children seated in front of a temple altar. The tour took visitors to an opium den, joss house, temple, Masonic temple and various other places to observe the traditions, customs and businesses of the Chinese living in Chinatown. Guides also lectured on the Chinese people, education, modes of living and wedding and funerary ceremonial customs. The brochure is in fair condition, edge tears, creasing, major pest damage to the surface of the paper.
