Description
An advertising statue for Stoody Company, Whittier, California, by F. Morrison Boyd, 1925. The ornate statue of a muscular worker with industrial equipment atop a pedestal with the company name, type of business (alloy steel), and location is in a field near some sloping open land along the side of a road. Boyd was a road scout for the American Automobile Association and on a 37,000-mile trip through the U.S., Mexico and Canada. With a small tear at the top, a fingerprint on the left and ink stains and other stains on the reverse, the condition is fair.
