Description
An aerial photograph of a portion of Balboa Island and Balboa Peninsula, Newport Beach, California, Spence Airplane Photos, 14 August 1924. The view shows the island, which was still largely undeveloped, though there are some houses and streets visible. In the foreground is the peninsula with some streets, automobiles parked on a few sports and some dwellngs on the north end, while most of the island is bare. In the distance is Newport Bay. A copyright statement is at the lower left, an ink stamp is on the reverse with the identification number and date, and there is a brief description including the note that the owner camped there for a Fourth of July holiday. With slight warping, browning and soiling, the condition is good overall.
