Description

A press photograph by the Associated Press of an aerial view of Mines Field, Los Angeles, 23 August 1929. The image, taken from an aircraft, shows a large open area on which several hundred cars are parked and people are milling about some aircraft. There appears to be a tent or small structure, but no other buildings. Pasted down on the reverse is a caption noting the airport, now Los Angeles International, is where the Graf Zeppelin was to land from a flight from Tokyo. With missing corners, a large tear at the left side, creases and some soiling, the condition is fair.
