Description
An album page with three photos of the San Gabriel Mountains, ca. 1910s. On one side is a large image of Mt. Lowe, Mt. Markham, and Mt. San Gabriel, showing the three peering above dense cloud cover with a darkened sky above. There is a quote from John Burroughs and the identification of the mountains at the top and bottom margins. On the reverse are two images of a group at a cabin at Switzer's Camp. One is a view across a creek of a group of persons near the creek and also closer to the cabin. The other shows six persons posed on or near a rock just below the cabin. Captions give the date (Sunday, 30 August) and location ("The House of Austin.") There are some creases on the large phtoto and soiling and light wear to the page, so the condition is good.
