Description

An article, "Reinforced Concrete Bank and Office Building, Los Angeles, Cal.," by Max Welch from "Engineering News," 5 July 1906 (Vol. LVI, No. 1.) The piece provides technical information on the construction of the Citizens' National Bank Building, dealing with questions over building all-concrete, as opposed to steel and concrete with regards to fireproofing and earthquake resistance. The bank building, at Third and Main streets, was the first to be all-concrete in construction. The names of Harrison Albright as architect and superintendent of construction W. B. Roberts are also provided. With some soiling, a few creases and minor edge rubbing, the condition is good overall.
