Description

An orange crate from the Glendora Citrus Association, Glendora, California, ca. 1925. The dual-bin crate is stamped on the top rails of the longer sides with the Sunkist brand name and that of its parent firm, the California Fruit Growers Exchange. On one short end is a pasted-down label for Glendora Home navel oranges packed at the Glendora facility and it has a color image of an orchard near a ranch house and outbuildings nestled near some hills and snow-covered mountains. A copyright date of 1925 is on the label. With missing portions, tears, holes, stains, soiling and abrasions to the label and scratches, dents, a small missing part of a rail on the bottom, and soiling, the overall condition is fair.
