AN UNKNOWN WOMAN AT THE FRONT OF THE MAUSOLEUM
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of an unknown woman at the front of the Walter P. Temple Memorial Mausoleum, ca. 1920s. The woman stands at the right of the center at the bottom of the stairs. She wears a hat, long-sleeve dress, and heels. She smiles at the camera and holds a purse in front of her with both hands. At the top of the stairs and to the left are the brick building's double-doors with three screened windows on each and an iron handle. Around the doors are circular designs, and to the right are two columns and bushes. At the center of the back is a stamp that reads, "ANDERSON / Photo Service / EL MONTE." At the bottom left corner is the number, "26." The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With a deep stain on the top right corner and some yellowing of the paper, the artifact is in fair condition.
