Color: Green; White
"Annual Publications, Historical Society of Southern California, Volume 13, Numbers 1-4, 1924-1927," printed by the McBride Printing Company. The green clothbound book with speckled paper has gold printing on the spine including the organization name and publication years. The four complete publications are bound inside, including the original wrappers, and are numbered consecutively, a practice not previously observed in Society publications. Number one, consisting of 144 pages, includes an officers list, eight articles, and a "In Memoriam" list at the back. Number two, consisting of 113 pages, includes an officers list, and three articles. Number three, consisting of 47 pages, is the first issue devoted to a special subject--in this case, expolorer and trapper Jedediah Strong Smith, with four articles on him. Number four, consisting of 56 pages, includes five articles. There are fold-out maps in numbers 1, 2, and 4. At the inside back cover, situated upside down, is the ex-libris label of a former owner. With little evidence of use and, therefore, of wear, the artifact is in good condition.Lexicon
