ANNUAL PUBLICATIONS, HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, VOLUME 16, 1934
Color: Green; White
"Annual Publications, Historical Society of Southern California, Volume 16, 1934," The green clothbound book with speckled paper has gold printing on the spine including the organization name and publication year. The publication is bound inside, including the original wrappers, and consists of 152 pages, divided into five articles. These concern the Rancho del Chino record book; a document involving Charles Fremont; a description of San Diego in the 1850s; the secularization of the California missions; and a transcription of Benjamin D. Wilson's reminiscences of New Mexico and California. A frontispiece lists the officers, directors, and committee members of the Society, including Thomas W. Temple II on the publications committee. At the back is a calendar of events for the Society during the year. For an unknown reason, thirty-one pages of the California Civil Code was also bound in with the publication and is at the rear. On the inside front cover is the ex-libris label of a former owner. With little evidence of use and, therefore, of wear, the artifact is in good condition.Lexicon
