"Arcade Station Grounds / S. P. R. R.," by Lemuel S. Ellis, Los Angeles, 1880s. The view shows lawns, palm trees, cacti and other elements of the garden near the Southern Pacific Railroad's Arcade Depot on Alameda Street. The caption is in ink at the reverse, as is Ellis's stamp identifying him as a "landscape photographer." There are missing sections of the mount edge, not affecting the photo, but there is soiling, a few stains, a curved mount, and rubbing, so the condition is fair.
