Description

An arched rock formation at a Los Angeles-area beach by George Clark, ca. 1880s. The view is taken from the beach, looking toward the formation, through which a man is standing on the opposite side. On the reverse is the handwritten inscription, evidently in pencil, "Arch Rock," though it is not known if it is one on Santa Catalina Island, Laguna Beach, or some other place. The artist's stamp with address is also on the reverse With stains, soiling, edge wear, and significant fading on the left image, the condition is fair.
