"ARCHITECTURAL MONOGRAPHS ON TILE AND TILEWORK" Color: Burgundy "Architectural Monographs on Tile and Tilework," by Rexford Newcomb (Beaver Falls: Associated Tile Manufacturers, 1924) 220 pp. The book, which has a plain burgundy hardcover, is divided into seven sections, each of which provides a title page, foreword, introduction, and bibliography. The sections included are "Ceramics in Architecture"; "Ceramic Architecture in Ancient Egypt"; "The Architectural Ceramics of Persia"; "Ceramic Art Among the Greeks and Romans"; "The Ceramics of Saracenic Syria, Turkey, and Egypt"; "Ceramic Decoration in India"; and "The Decorative Tiles of North America." Black and white photographs and drawings, as well as some color illustrations are included. At the end is a list of the companies which are members of the Associated Tile Manufacturers. With some abrasions, foxing, soiling, and acid burns, the object is in fair condition.
