Description

A real photo postcard of the Army YMCA, Los Angeles, CA. 1918. A multiple storied building which appears to be made of cement has an arched entry way on the second (ground floor) story. There is a group of men and a woman on the front stairs and walkway. Above the arch is a sign that reads "ARMY Y.M.C.A." which has an upside down triangle on either side. To the left of the arch is a sign that reads "Open to all men in the service". There are trees on either side of the building as well as bushes, flowers, and a palm tree in front of the building. There are wooden crates on either side of the entrance walkway and a single electric pole in front of the building. There is writing on the back identifying this as the Army YMCA in Los Angeles during WWI. With silvering on the left and right sides, abrasion on all edges, discoloration and soiling on the back, the object is in good condition overall.
