Description

Color: Black and white A newspaper clipping with an article, "Glass Centuries Old Shown" regarding an exhibit of glass art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, 1938. The story concerns the recent opening of the showing, consisting of about 600 artifacts obtained by the museum from the estate of George Horace Lorimer. Two images of English glasses include one made in 1663 for the marriage of English king Charles II and Catharine de Braganza and a 1760 piece. The article also refers to American works, including that done by Henrich Wilhelm Stiegel. At the top heading is the year 1938, while, on the reverse, is part of a review of a music performance by Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra at the city's Academy of Music and one by a "Negro" pianist, Grace M. Stevens. In good condition, the article has some discoloration and a half-fold.
