Description

"ART NEEDLEWORK AND FANCY WEAR FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN" Color: Brown; Blue; Green; Pink "Art Needlework and Fancy Wear for Women and Children," a catalog issued by Frederick Herrschner, Inc., 1928. The front cover of the 52-page item has the title in a green scroll-end banner at the top. Below this is a color image of a woman in a pink dress, a young boy in a brown and white jump-suit, holding a toy dirigible, and a young girl in a green romper. All have embroidered detail with needlework. Below each is a model number and price for the clothing. At the bottom is the manufacturer's name and address. A color advertisement of more children's clothing is on the inside of the front cover. After a note to customers by Frederick Herrschner, product listings follow, including women's and children's clothing, but also men's accessories, household linens, such as tablecloths, napkins, doilies, and so forth; bedding; bird cage covers; laundry and shoe bags; embroidery supplies; thread; sewing machine covers; aprons; babies' bedding; infants' clothing; and women's hosiery and lingerie. In poor condition, the covers are separated (they arrived barely affixed to the body); and there are cover creases, dents, soiling, tears, and general wear, as well as page discoloration.
