A black and white photograph of Arvella Temple in costume at the home of Charles Temple, ca. 1930s. Temple stands at the center with her body turned to the left and her head towards the camera. She has her left hand on her hip and wears a mantilla; a long polka-dot dress which has laced sleeves and a pleaded bottom; white stockings; and flat shoes. The stone walk she stands on is in a dirt area with a palm at the left of the foreground and a row of bushes across the back. The home is at the center and right of the back and has a ceramic shingled roof; a window on the left under which is a planter; and a large window at the center with a carved wood gate. Among the haze at the left of the background is a hill. The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With stains along the top and yellowing of the paper, the artifact is in fair condition.
