97.44.1.1Description
A black and white reproduction photograph, taken from museum photo archives negative 98, of the auditorium at the Workman Homestead, ca. 1925. The eastern facade of the structure is shown with its long gabled roof, entrance with striped canopy at center, windows to both sides of the doorway and what appears to be a vent at the top, near the peak of the roof. There are cypresses and other shrubs planted along the wall. To the right, parked in front of the auditorium, is a black car, a two-door coupe, with black soft top. Seen in the background over the right gable of the building is a tall palm, which was known to have been planted next to La Casa Nueva in 1925, hence the date of the photograph. The auditorium, formerly one of William Workman's wineries, was remodeled by the Temple family in 1920, for recreational use. The photograph, copied in June 1997, is in mint condition. None
